ADB set us a challenge, to impress upon their regional audience and key decision makers the impact that infrastructure development was having on communities through human focused storytelling. ADB wanted to create content that is intimate and impactful and steer away from the traditional corporate video packed with stats and voice over. They tasked Miran with telling their wider regional success story through an individual impact narrative.
We found Young Rubysol Blasé, known to friends and family as Beetle, in Barangay Katipunan, a small village on Siargao Island in the Philippines. Through her life we were able to show the story of how the entire community came together to decide on what they need to protect and improve the environment they live in.
The Asian Development Bank and its development partners are investing in hundreds of villages like Beetle’s across Asia and the Pacific, reducing poverty, expanding social protection, and promoting community-driven development to make communities stronger and more resilient.
